Meet Daren Louison
Daren Louison is the owner-operator of VAM Building Inspections, an independent building and pest inspection business based in Frankston, serving Melbourne’s South-East and the Mornington Peninsula. Originally from London, Daren started out as a carpenter, ran a successful floor sanding business, and has operated Victorian Asset Maintenance – a property maintenance and handyman business – since 2009. Today he brings all of it together: 28+ years on the tools, more than $150 million in projects, and the rare ability to inspect a property and fix what he finds, without ever handing you off to someone else.

You’ll understand it. That’s the whole point. Daren writes every report in plain English and walks you through it by phone – no technical terms without an explanation, no fine print, and no question is a silly one. If something’s unclear, you ask, he explains, simple as that.
Everything the standard doesn’t cover on a walk-through: roof space, subfloor, moisture, structural movement, drainage, safety hazards, and more – inside and out. Daren goes through every corner most buyers never think to look at.
Yes – and earlier than most people think. Auction properties sell unconditionally, so you need your inspection done before auction day, not after. Call Daren as soon as you’re seriously considering a property.
A building inspection covers the structure and condition of the property. A pest inspection checks for termites and other timber pests, which a standard building inspection doesn’t cover. Most buyers get real value from both, done together, in one visit.
